The unspoken name of the game here in Ios is romance. Scantily clad beautiful people all pile into the bars to watch the setting sun and enjoy a cocktail while a beautiful voice and acoustic guitar croon quietly in the background. This is not the spot that you are going to go wild at, but rather a place to enjoy and soak up all of the beauty that the Mediterranean has to offer with the one you love at your side.
Ios also perfectly blends the ancient with the modern, leaving visitors both gasping at the natural beauty of the island and marveling in just how the locals have managed to keep it looking this way for so long.
Formentera, Spain
White sands and nearly transparent water? Yes, Formentera really is heaven on Earth. This small island just south of Ibiza is often compared to the Caribbean islands, and it’s all too easy to understand why once you manage to kick off your flip flops and take in your surroundings.
This is one of the more popular spots on the list, but visitors will never have trouble finding their alone time if they decide that they do want to check it out. Imagine a vacation where you can snorkel in crystal clear waters by day and enjoy a drink while watching the sun begin to set at night.

The best thing about Amorgos is that it’s completely remote. Aside from one week of high summer in August, you are almost guaranteed serenity and quiet no matter where you go.
Sandy beaches, beautiful homes, and taverns and restaurants for you to eat at until you’re too stuffed to try any more local cuisine are all definite pulls to this quiet, no frills spot of natural beauty.
