Amsterdam, the Netherlands capital, is famous worldwide for its canals, shopping centers, remarkable architecture, festivals and exceptional people – most fluent speakers of English. Whether you want to admire the city buildings, to spend until dawn, visit historic and cultural attractions or participate in one of the many festivals here, undoubtedly, Amsterdam has something for all who come here, regardless of season and year.

Amsterdam is a compact city, making it attractive for the whole family. Because of its many canals, buildings dating from the 17th century and most spectacular bridges, the city has a special charm to be experienced. In addition, the most common language here is English, but you can talk in German or French when ordering food in a restaurant.

Gouda is a typical Dutch city with many beautiful old buildings and canals. It’s a destination searched for a day trip, thanks to the excellent train connections to the motorway. The city is famous for its cheese, for stroopwafels (waffles with syrup), candles and clay pipe. Some of Gouda attractions include City Hall, dating from the 15th century, Gothic church St. Janskerk, with its magnificent stained glass windows. The city center is surrounded by canals and is located five minutes walk from the station.

Once a fishing village, Rotterdam is one of the most modern cities in the Netherlands today. Very “friendly” with cyclists, like Amsterdam, Rotterdam boasts several historic neighborhoods that awaits to be explore by visitors. The popular Delfshaven is where pilgrims began to sail in 1620, and festivals and carnivals held here attract thousands of visitors every year. Erasmus Bridge is unique and impressive, often regarded as a masterpiece, as it rises over the largest port in Europe. By far, the most popular tourist attraction is the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, that exhibits works of art from the Middle Ages to modern times, including works by Dali, Van Gogh and Rembrandt Bosch.

Utrecht city’s rich medieval history makes its presence felt in the architecture of the city. In Utrecht is the largest higher education institution in the country, the University of Utrecht, and Gothic cathedral St. Martin, a 200 year old structure. Museums and architecture lovers should not miss the Duomo, Rietveld Schroder House and Museum Speelklok where is exposed an impressive collection of clocks, music boxes and musical instruments.

Known for its dynamics market, Vrijthof, Maastricht city from southern Holland is where popular tourist destinations like the impressive church of St. Servatius, Cathedral of St. Jan and old fortifications, or Vestigingswerkens are situated. Many festivals are held every year in Vrijthof, where there are numerous cafes, bars, shopping malls and shops. Other popular locations in Maastricht are Grottoes St. Pietersberg and Helpoort, the oldest city gate in the Netherlands.

Renowned for contemporary art exhibitions, Hague is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places to visit in the Netherlands. Also known as the Royal seaside town, thanks to the Dutch royal girls who live here, the tourists who come to The Hague spend much time in the summer months. Some notable landmarks and historic districts are easily visited in The Hague, and here you can take the extra luxury shopping, visit elegant shops and international art galleries.

The picturesque town Leiden is a magnificent place to visit for its picturesque canals lined, amazing windmills, wooden bridges and parks with abundant vegetation. A trip on these channels is an unforgettable experience for everyone who comes here. Leiden attractions include museums, from the science and natural history to the windmills and Egyptian antiquities.
