What can one expect from a place named Mira Mira? The word derives from Latin “star” and announces something really miraculous. It is a special hotel in Crossover, Australia that consists of three unique retreats to provide you with a fantasy realm. The combination of styles is surprising; you can either enter two fantasy worlds of elves and dwarfs or relax in Japanese -type serenity.

Mira Mira fantasy resort consists of 3 separate, 2 bedroom accommodations that were designed to provide visitors with amazing images. The Hotel occupies 22 acres of area to separate retreats from each other for a more intense sensation of a special realm. The Cave House represents the dwarf settle. The underground begins with the doorway in the mouth of Magog and continues with the twisting steps illuminated by lava lanterns. The atmosphere appears very mysterious and thrilling. The colored lights create the feeling as if the walls have encrusted gems and the sense of being underground is enhanced by the sounds of running water. A lot of attention was paid to the details to achieve the complete sensation of an underground living. Nevertheless, the cave has a picture window built in the hillside for observing the views in a peaceful and extraordinary surrounding.

Another retreat is called Tanglewood and represents an elegant elf settle. Getting to a place starts with walking through a tangled path in the local forest. The structure itself is nestled in the trees, and with the addition of surrounding aromas and birds’ singing, it becomes a real assimilation with nature. A little surprising is the usage of Antoni Gaudi’s architectural style with the versatility of colors without boundaries and absence of straight lines. You can taste the surrounding atmosphere either sitting at the balcony or laying in bed and watching stars through a feature “star light”. Tanglewood offers its visitors a very luxurious and stylish interior of the rooms along with a tranquil and vital location.

The concept of fantasy doesn’t continue in the third building in the way it was before. It doesn’t represent any other kingdom of fantastic creatures, but something more common for people, especially in the east. The Japanese Zen Retreat is designed in a very simple and stylish manner and located on a little pond. Frogs and Kookaburras can interfere with total tranquility, but at the same time people find it rather exotic and even relate to such sounds as to a desirable amenity. The rooms designed for a perfect observation of the sunsets and sunrises. You can watch them either on the veranda overlooking the rays reflected in the pond or while resting on the couch in the lounge watching the bright sun patterns on the walls and ceiling. Japanese Gardens and Kyoto Palace were the inspiration for the used architectural style and resulted in an excellent spot for a relaxing getaway.

The Hotel locates in the foothills of Mount Baw Baw within 90 minutes drive from Melbourne, 6km from Neerim South, 14km from Warragul and Drouin. As was mentioned the total area of the resort occupies 22 acres. The retreats are located separate from each other and create their own realms. The landscape consists of grass lands and bushes, bordering with the State Forest. There three dams around, a tree fern gully and a lot of spots with natural bush. The flora attracts different wild animals such as: wallabies, kangaroos and possums. Some of them even become residents and get their names (wombats Dozer, Dozer Jnr and Mini Me, Victor the wallaby). Various species of birds are also easy to meet in their search of food, for example: kookaburras, cockatoos, and rosellas, ducks and other water species.
